Search for a disposable THC pen for sale and you will get a wall of near-identical listings: same shape, same strain names, wildly different prices. The thing almost nobody explains is that “disposable THC pen” is not one product. It is at least four, and the oil inside is what you are actually paying for.

The short answer
Choose based on the oil, then the size:
- Want the cleanest, most flavour-forward option and don’t mind paying for it → cold-cured live rosin (solventless).
- Want maximum strength per puff at a lower price → THCA liquid diamonds.
- Want a middle ground with a big terpene profile → live resin diamond sauce.
- Want something noticeably milder → delta-8.
Then decide between a 1g pen (try it, carry it) and a 2.5g pen (better price per gram if you already know you like the line).
The four kinds of disposable, explained
Cold-cured live rosin — the solventless one
Live rosin is made without any chemical solvent: fresh-frozen material becomes ice-water hash, which is then pressed with heat and pressure. “Cold-cured” means it was cured at a low temperature afterwards to hold onto more of the volatile aromatics. It is the most labour-intensive extract to produce and the lowest-yielding, which is why rosin pens sit at the top of the price range.

THCA liquid diamonds — the strong one
“Liquid diamonds” sounds like marketing but describes a real process: crystalline THCA is isolated, then reintroduced into a terpene-rich sauce. You get very high cannabinoid content carried in a liquid that still tastes of something. This is typically the most potent-feeling disposable per puff, and usually the best value per gram.

Delta-8 — the milder one
Delta-8 THC is a different cannabinoid with a reputation for being noticeably less intense than delta-9 or THCA products. Some people specifically want that. It is also the cheapest tier. 1g or 2.5g? Do the per-gram math
Bigger pens are cheaper per gram, but only pay off if you finish them. At the prices VAYU lists at the time of writing:

The 2.5g format cuts the per-gram cost by roughly a third across every line. Prices and availability change with each batch — the disposables category page is the accurate current picture.
The honest counter-argument: a 2.5g pen is a bigger commitment to one strain, and oil quality degrades once a pen has been open a long time. If you are trying a line for the first time, buy the 1g.
Six things to check before you buy
- A current, full-panel COA. Batch-specific, recently dated, and covering cannabinoids, residual solvents, pesticides and heavy metals. Residual solvents are the critical panel on anything solvent-extracted. Ours are on our lab test results page.
- Total THC, not just THCA. THCA converts to delta-9 THC when heated, so total THC is the number that reflects what you actually inhale.
- What the oil is cut with — ideally nothing. Cannabis-derived terpenes are what you want to see. Thinning agents and unexplained “proprietary blends” are what you do not.
- Rechargeable hardware. A pen whose battery dies before the oil runs out has wasted your money. VAYU’s disposables use rechargeable, draw-activated hardware.
- Strain-specific terpenes, and a strain that actually matches. A pen labelled with a cultivar should taste like it, not like generic candy.
- A seller who will answer questions. If you cannot find a COA in two clicks, that is the answer.
Getting the most out of a disposable
Take short, gentle draws — hard pulls flood the coil, hurt flavour and can cause leaking. Store the pen upright at room temperature and out of direct sun; heat thins the oil and cold makes it sluggish. If a pen has been somewhere cold, let it warm in your hand before the first draw. Charge before it fully dies rather than after.
And start with one puff. Wait. Concentrate-based pens are strong, and the difference between lines is real.
A note on legality before you buy
Everything VAYU sells is hemp-derived and sold under the federal hemp definition in force today. That definition is scheduled to change, and the change does not treat every product the same way.
Section 781 of the FY2026 appropriations act (Public Law 119-37, signed 12 November 2025) narrows “hemp” to a total-THC standard that counts THCA, and caps finished consumable products at 0.4 mg total THC per container — effective 12 November 2026. On 8 August 2026 the Senate passed a continuing resolution that would delay most of that to 11 December 2026; as of this writing it has not been enacted. Notably, the proposed delay carves out cannabinoids a cannabis plant cannot naturally produce, which would still lose hemp status on the original November date.
